We have lost a Cuban icon in Miami. Guillermo Alvarez Guedes was more than a great actor and comedian, he was also an entrepreneur and a musical producer. His production of comedy CDs and his failed venture in selling his brand of beer were the talk of the town. But foremost he loved his native country tremendously — he was a Cuban patriot.
His comedy was a true representation of the Cuban criollo flavor that made fun of everyone and was enjoyed by people of all ages. He brought together several generations who listened to his radio show or a CD at a party. Everyone understood his language and laughed about it. He is an example of cubanía for future generations.
