One of 2 men shot in Hallandale Beach dies

One of the two men shot in Hallandale Beach died in the hospital, police confirmed Wednesday.

Vincent Strickland, 22, died after being shot several times Tuesday at his home at 1013 NW First Ave.

Police Maj. Thomas Honan said Wednesday that the other man, who has not yet been identified, remained at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood recovering from gunshot wounds.

Motive and the gunman’s identity are still not clear, police said. Honan said police will try to interview the man in the hospital Wednesday.

Police tape and vehicles blocked the street Tuesday night while detectives combed the apartment, which is part of a triplex set back from the main road.

No one in the area “saw or heard anything,” Honan said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hallandale Beach police at 954-457-1444 or Broward CrimeStoppers at 954-593-8477.
