Debris on I-95 ramp in North Miami flattens tires

At least eight cars had an unexpected delay in their morning commute Tuesday when a piece of metal debris on Interstate 95 caused multiple flat tires.

The debris was on the ramp to get onto southbound I-95 from 135th Street about 8 a.m. and caused damage to the cars by flattening their passenger-side front and rear tires, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP spokesman Joe Sanchez said that when troopers arrived on the scene, they were unable to find the debris, and assumed it had been cleared away by someone. The driver and vehicle responsible for the debris was not identified.

Road Rangers were sent to the scene to assist the vehicles and get them moving.
