Dennis Rodman makes cameo at Swim Week show

Party animal Dennis Rodman made a cameo at the Minimale Animale show at Raleigh’s Oasis Monday night. He was joined by pal, shoe designer Lisa Pliner. The two embraced and laughed while taking in the sexy styles, but were soon swarmed, especially since many fashionistas mistook Pliner for Heather Locklear.

Nina Agdal does not have a clone. The woman can get make ground, though. The model was seen at various spots over the weekend but planted herself for awhile at the Lifestyle Retreat Lounge at the James Royal Palm, enjoying the fruits (vitamin-infused soda). Agdal was also seen walking around in a Viking helmet, a prop from the photo booth.

Know why Joe and Melissa Gorga have a solid marriage? “I treat her like my girlfriend,” he said at the so-called Star Lounge at the Raleigh. His NJ Housewife recently penned the advice book Love Italian Style. “You gotta keep the excitement alive.”

A no show?

Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Kanye West. All say they are boycotting Florida in the wake of the George Zimmerman verdict but have no tour dates. Jay Z and Justin Timberlake do: At Sun Life Stadium on Aug. 16.

Jay Z (no hyphen these days) and JT paid tribute to Trayvon at their “Legends of the Summer” concert at Yankee Stadium, dedicating Forever Young to the slain teen. WPLG-TV reports the show will go on, citing a source close to the tour. A Live Nation rep did not respond to an email for comment as of press time.

    Sean Connery had dinner Monday night with a group of friends at Caffe Abbracci. Connery greeted and shook hands with fans as he entered the room and was overheard chatting with restaurant owner Nino Pernetti about the World Cup, saying he regrets that his native country Scotland did not qualify and that England was eliminated in the first round. He did concede that Germany was the rightful winner. Connery also told Pernetti that what he enjoys most in life after making movies is ... soccer. The ex 007 left the restaurant, saying “Cheerio,” to the owner and his starstruck guests.

    Starz' ‘Outlander' brings novels to life

    Prepare to bend your mind. Premiering on the Starz network on Saturday at 9 p.m., Outlander is adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s wildly popular novels. Claire, a lovely British Army nurse on a second honeymoon in Scotland, is mysteriously swept from 1945 back to 1743, plopped into a strange and alien existence, including marriage to a dashing Scottish warrior, even as she struggles to return to “modern” times and the husband she left behind.
