Festival Miami Additions
The University of Miami Frost School of Music’s Festival Miami announced the addition of multiplatinum singer-songwriter Joan Osborne (Oct. 10) and blues star Ana Popovic (Oct. 19) to the lineup for the month-long festival, opening with international superstar Gloria Estefan performing a jazz-influenced program of American classics from her upcoming album, The Standards, on Oct. 1 at UM’s Maurice Gusman Concert Hall, 1314 Miller Dr., Coral Gables; festivalmiami.com or 305-284-4940. Artist in Residence
The Deering Estate invites artists to apply for the Environmental Artist in Residence Program, pairing artists with mentor environmentalist artist Lucinda Linderman for a short-term shared studio residency made possible in part by a National Endowment for the Arts grant. Artists should have an interest in environmental art and using recycled or found materials. Residencies for four to six artists begin Aug. 20 and run through March 2014. Early application is recommended; the first deadline is Aug 15.

Summer at Norton
Miami Beach native Luna Goldberg is one of four summer interns to curate The Norton Museum of Art’s summer exhibition, Little Boxes: Vernacular Architecture from the Collection, an eclectic selection of works by Ansel Adams, Norman Rockwell, and Yinka Shonibare that explores ways in which people live.
