Historic architecture

Thanks to the Herald for Fernando Peinado’s July 14 article, Iconic homage, about Miami’s historic buildings. While properly giving acknowledgement to the vision George Merrick and others who designed these magnificent structures, it would have been interesting to know who the builder/contractor was for Alhambra Towers, the Roney Plaza, the Everglades Hotel, the Freedom Tower and the Biltmore.

Today the thousands of members of Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter are building iconic structures throughout our region. Their hard work is an integral part of turning a design dream into the reality of buildings of which we are all proud.

Downtown Miami’s resurgence was well under way before The Big 3 arrived, gained momentum alongside four consecutive championship runs and won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
