20-year-old shot, killed in Hollywood neighborhood



A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in the street in a Hollywood neighborhood Friday night.

Police found Hollywood resident Donavin Johnson bleeding on the ground at the intersection of South 28th Avenue and Jackson Street, where people had reported hearing gunshots at about 9:15 p.m., police said.

Hollywood Fire Rescue personnel took him to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he died, said Hollywood Police spokesman Pablo Vanegas.

Investigators are looking for the shooter and for a white sedan a witness saw in the area when Johnson was shot.

Police have asked anyone with information about the shooting or the vehicle to call the Hollywood Police Department at 954-967-4357 or Broward CrimeStoppers at 954-493-8477.
