FedEx driver dies after being hit by train

The Associated Press

The driver of a FedEx delivery truck that was struck by a train in north Florida earlier this month has died from his injuries.

The Gainesville Sun ( http://goo.gl/Asga8) reports that 51-year-old Martin Beckles died Wednesday at a Gainesville hospital.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Beckles was attempting to cross a set of tracks in Hawthorne on July 3 when a CSX train heading to the Tampa Bay area hit the passenger side of his truck.

The crossing doesn't have an arm, and there was heavy rain. It took the train a half-mile to stop after the crash.
