Auslander named to top spot at Children’s Trust

A local lawyer and long-time child advocate has been named president and CEO of The Children’s Trust.

Charles M. Auslander, who served as the trust’s Chief Programs and Operations Officer for the past 7 years, will assume the top post. Prior to joining The Children’s Trust he initiated a program to provide pro-bono legal services for guardians and sued to give the Guardian ad Litem program to pursue termination of parental rights’ actions. More recently, he was on of several attorneys instrumental in overturning Florida’s ban on gay adoptions. He also served for four years as Miami-Dade/Monroe District Administrator for the Department of Children and Families.
