St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Blues officially signed center Derek Roy to a one-year contract on Thursday.

The deal was pending a physical exam after the two sides agreed to terms on Saturday. The contract is reportedly worth $4 million.

A nine-year NHL veteran, Roy split last season with the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks and finished with seven goals and 21 assists over a combined 42 games. The 30-year-old has accumulated 168 goals and 287 assists over 591 overall contests during his tenure in the league, the majority of which was spent with the Buffalo Sabres.

Roy's best season came in 2007-08, when he posted career bests of 32 goals and 81 points with the Sabres. The Ontario native followed with 28 goals and 70 points the subsequent campaign.
