Nigella Lawson, Charles Saatchi heading for divorce

In a surprise to just about no one, celebrity chef Nigella Lawson, 53, and Charles Saatchi, 70, are getting divorced.

In announcing the split, the wealthy art collector and global ad agency co-founder said he was disappointed that Lawson failed to publicly defend him after their disturbing public fight last month, People.com reports.

"I am sorry to announce that Nigella Lawson and I are getting divorced," he said in a statement to The Mail newspaper in the UK.

"I feel that I have clearly been a disappointment to Nigella during the last year or so, and I am disappointed that she was advised to make no public comment to explain that I abhor violence of any kind against women, and have never abused her physically in any way."

A rep for Lawson declined to comment.
