DETROIT -- Nick Fairley recently said he and Ndamukong Suh make up the best defensive tackle tandem in the NFL. He also predicted a trip to the Super Bowl for the Detroit Lions.
Suh reportedly said he's not fazed by Fairley's bold words. In fact, it sounds like he's embracing them.
"It's a great challenge that Nick put in for us, being the best two guys, so it's something that we got to live up to," Suh said to NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano. "We have the potential and the opportunity to be that great, but it's a matter of we got to work together, put in the work and make sure we get it done and we got to stay healthy."
Fairley and Suh are certainly big names; they're both former first-round draft picks. Fairley won a BCS championship at Auburn. Suh was a rare defensive Heisman Trophy finalist at Nebraska.
They also combined for 69 tackles and 13.5 sacks in 2012. However, the Lions finished 4-12 and lost eight consecutive games to end the year.
So for right now, it's all talk. Can they back it up?
