Taste of the Nation South Florida, a first-time Miami-Dade and Broward collaboration, is set for July 25 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Chef Allen Susser, a longtime leader of the chefs’ hunger-fighting fundraiser, plans to whet appetites with a free cooking class at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Whole Foods Market, 6701 Red Rd., Coral Gables.
Susser’s menu will include watermelon gazpacho with tomato, bacon and Munster grilled cheese; Thai steak and mango salad with cilantro dressing and peach tartine with vanilla ice cream, rum and macadamia nuts.
