David Wagner (Portland, Ore.) claimed the gold medal in quad singles at the BNP Paribas Open de France, held June 25-30 in Paris. The No. 1- ranked wheelchair tennis player dominated the tournament, defeating Israel's Patrick Ben Uriel, Italy's Antonio Raffaele and Israel's Shraga Weinberg before his 6-4, 6-2 victory over Anders Hard of Sweden in the final.

SWIMMING NATIONALS HIGHLIGHT U.S. TALENT

Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky (Bethesda, Md.) won three individual events and set a meet record of 15:47.15 in the women's 1,500-meter freestyle at the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championships, held June 25-29 in Indianapolis. Olympic gold medalists Missy Franklin (Centennial, Colo.) and Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.) were also crowned national champions, as Franklin won four individual events and Lochte won three.

BASKETBALL

The U.S. cruised to a 4-0 record to open the FIBA U19 World Championship, held June 27-July 7 in Prague. The U.S. started with an 88-29 victory over Ivory Coast, then followed up with 113-57 and 115-47 wins over China and Russia, and on Monday, they beat Brazil, 91-66.

CANOE/KAYAK

Fabien Lefevre (Bethesda, Md.), Casey Eichfeld (Drums, Pa.) and Zach Lokken (Durango, Colo.) finished seventh in the C1 team event at the 2013 ICF Slalom World Cup No. 2, held June 28-30 in Augsburg, Germany. Lefevre also joined Michal Smolen (Gastonia, N.C.) and Richard Powell (Parkesburg, Pa.) to earn a 10th-place finish in the K1 team event.

CYCLING

Olympian Lea Davison (Jericho, Vt.) won the women's cross-country race in 1:46:08 at the Windham U.S. National Mountain Bike Race, held June 28-30 in Windham, N.Y. On the men's side, Jeremiah Bishop (Harrisonburg Va.) took the title in 1:42:38.

EQUESTRIAN

The U.S. dressage team finished third with a score of 217.298 in the Lambertz FEI Nations Cup at CHIO Aachen, held June 26-30 in Aachen, Germany. Meanwhile, aboard Cortes 'C', Beezie Madden (Cazenovia, NY) finished seventh in the Rolex Grand Prix jumping event with a time of 71.27.

FIELD HOCKEY

The U.S. Women's National Team finished fifth at the World League Semi-Final, held June 22-30 in London. After losing to Australia, 4-1, in the quarterfinals, the U.S. recovered to defeat Spain, 3-1, and Italy, 6-0.

MODERN PENTATHLON

Nathan Schrimsher (Roswell, N.M.) won the men's title at the USA Pentathlon National Championships, held June 27-30 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He earned a perfect score in riding, placed second in both fencing and the combined event, and finished third in swimming. On the women's side, Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.) claimed the title after she posted a perfect riding score, won both fencing and the combined event, and placed second in swimming.

ROWING

Olympic medalist Henrik Rummel (Pittsford, N.Y.) captured the gold medal in the men's pair and fourat the US Rowing National Championships, held June 23-26 in West Windsor, N.J. Hugh McAdam (Nashua, N.H.) also took home two gold medals, one in lightweight single sculls and the other in lightweight double sculls. A total of 16 crews were named national champions.

RUGBY

With a sudden death score by captain Vanesha McGee (Ewing, N.J.), the U.S. Women's National Team claimed third place at the Rugby World Cup Sevens, held June 28-30 in Moscow. En route to its 10-5 victory over Spain, the team defeated Brazil, Fiji, Spain and Ireland, but then lost to New Zealand in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the U.S. men started the competition strong with a defeat over Georgia but then fell to Canada and New Zealand, and finally to Argentina, 28-5, in the plate quarterfinals.
