Manhunt on for man who tried to abduct 9-year-old Fort Lauderdale girl

 

Fort Lauderdale police launched a manhunt Monday afternoon for a man who tried to abduct a 9-year-old girl.

Police said the incident occurred as the girl walked in the area of Northwest Ninth Avenue and Second Street.

An unknown male suspect grabbed her and threw her into his vehicle, the girl told police.

The little girl was able to escape from the car and run to a nearby adult for help.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a newer model 4-door white Chevy Impala.
