North Miami-Dade man gunned down in front of his home

Miami-Dade police are investigating the killing of a father wounded outside his home Sunday as his grown son watched.

Police said the man, whose name has not been released, was standing outside the family home with his son around 4 p.m. waiting to drive his daughter to work when three men drove up in a vehicle. Someone inside opened fire on the victim from inside the vehicle.

The suspects then sped away from the home at 14700 NW Ninth Ave.

The man, described only as being in his 50s, was critically wounded, according to Miami-Dade polices spokesman Det. Javier Baez. He was rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

The suspects remained at large on Sunday. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
