A West Palm Beach man died Saturday while snorkeling in waters off Key West, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
The victim, identified as Eugene Porter, 64, was apparently snorkeling off a commercial vessel operated by Fury Water Adventures when the accident occurred.
The Sheriff’s office has not released details of the circumstances surrounding Porter’s death.
Porter was rushed back to the Key West Bight marina. He was transported by paramedics to Lower Keys Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of his death.
