Golovkin (27-0, 24 KOs) used a left to the body to send Macklin (29-5, 20 KOs) to the canvas and referee Eddie Cotton counted out the Englishman at the 1:22 mark of round three.

Prior to that, Macklin suffered a cut over his right eye in the second round.
