I, like millions of other South Floridians, am so proud of our Miami Heat team! I can fully understand everyone wanting to celebrate their incredible success. The parade, however, should have been planned with all the residents’ needs in mind.
For the millions that still need to get to work, the traffic fiasco was beyond comprehension. My normal one-hour commute took three hours. I travel from Broward County to Coconut Grove. It was ridiculous; I finally arrived at my CocoWalk-area office at 10 a.m. It isn’t fair to the majority of the people to create this situation.
If the parade took place on a weekend, many more people would have the opportunity to join the celebration. Give everyone, not just the lucky few who can take a day off from work, the opportunity to show their pride in the Miami Heat. Think this through a bit better for next year’s 3-peat!
