Legoland adds last piece to new World of Chima attraction

Miami Herald Staff

Just in time for the grand opening next week, Legoland crews on Thursday topped off the new World of Chima, hoisting a 7,500-pound “floating mountain” atop the attraction.

In the Legends of Chima storyline — a line of toys introduced by Lego early this year — tribes of animal warriors battle over orbs of CHI, an energy source. Mount Cavora, the new centerpiece, provides CHI through its waterfalls. It also presides over the new water ride, The Quest for CHI, soaking riders that pass by the waterfalls. Mount Cavora features the faces of the animal tribes.

The new attractions also includes Speedorz Arena, where kids can build and race Chima’s chariots; a 4-D movie starring the animal warriors; character meet-and-greets; and a retail shop.

Grand opening is July 3 at the Winter Haven park.
