PARIS (AP) -- France’s Eiffel Tower has reopened after a rare two-day workers’ strike.
The union representing most of the Eiffel Tower’s 300 workers called the walkout Tuesday during negotiations this week over salary raises, company profit-sharing policy and other issues.
The 124-year-old tower gets about 25,000 tourists daily. Though it is scheduled to be open every day, it occasionally closes because of suicide threats, bomb threats – or strikes.
Ana Adrados, a Spanish tourist, had to delay her Eiffel Tower visit until Thursday because of the strike but she said she was on the workers’ side.
“I think having rights is for all the people all over the world,” she said.
