Sugarcane executive chef Timon Balloo will be in charge of the kitchen at Bocce Bar, an Italian restaurant featuring outdoor dining, Vespa parking and an official bocce court that Samba Brands Management plans to open late this year at Midtown Miami.
Taste of the Nation South Florida, a first-time Miami-Dade and Broward collaboration, is set for July 25 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Chef Allen Susser, a longtime leader of the chefs’ hunger-fighting fundraiser, plans to whet appetites with a free cooking class at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Whole Foods Market, 6701 Red Rd., Coral Gables.
Brasileiro, a Brazilian-fusion steakhouse and lounge, is set to open July 12 in the old Porcao space at the Four Ambassadors Suites Hotel,801 Brickell Bay Dr., Miami. Serving lunch and dinner daily, the restaurant will offer all-you-can-eat rodizio for $39 plus an a la carte menu by chef Guily Booth (Local House, YUCA, Cafeina); 786-502-3829, brasileiromiami.com.
GG’s Waterfront, 606 N. Ocean Dr., Hollywood, has added a three-course “Taste of Summer” dinner menu for $30; 954-929-7030.
