Crews have capped a leak that spewed wastewater in Miami Beach, but an advisory remains to limit contact with area waterways that could be polluted.
The wastewater line ruptured Tuesday near the Miami Beach Convention Center. A "precautionary" advisory urges people to limit contact with water at the Collins Canal, Indian Creek and Biscayne Bay along the western shoreline from Government Cut to the 79th Street Causeway.
The cause of the break is unknown, according to the city of Miami Beach. The break and the repairs are not expected to affect business and residential drains.
Health and environmental agencies are testing the area waters.
Repairs are continuing at the break, between Convention Center Drive and Meridian Avenue.
