Responsible gun ownership

As a gun owner I’m appalled at the things being said by those who tout the “responsible gun owner” line, as if to say that a responsible gun owner would not comply with background checks.

Of course, I would comply. That would then be just another part of my responsibility, which I actually experienced when I purchased my gun. It took less than 15 minutes, including the conversation with the FBI.

I cannot see what all the fuss is about against background checks. It seems irresponsible to not have them.
