Man killed in motorcycle crash on I-95 in Pompano Beach

A man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate-95 in Pompano Beach Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle veered across several lanes of traffic and then flipped over.

Youssef Souliki, 48 and a resident of Dania Beach, was riding his Harley-Davidson in the left southbound lane of I-95 south of Copans Road when he sped from left to right across the roadway and overturned on the west shoulder at about 5 p.m., according to a report by Florida Highway Patrol.

Rescuers took him to Broward Health North, where he died at about 8:10 p.m. Souliki was not wearing a helmet.

Investigators do not yet know what caused the crash or why Souliki veered across the highway. They have urged anyone who saw the crash to contact FHP at 954-837-4012.
