Florida: Inaugural Key Lime Festival set for July 4-6

Salute sweet Key lime pie and the tiny fruit that inspired it with events ranging from a pie-eating contest to a wacky world record attempt at the inaugural Key Lime Festival set for July 4-6. The festival was conceived by Key West baker David Sloan, author of The Ultimate Key Lime Pie Cookbook, who with three fellow chefs hopes to set a Guinness Record for baking the world’s largest Key lime pie. Also planned: a Key Lime Pie Championship for aspiring bakers at the Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum, a Miss Key Lime U.S.A. pageant and a Lil’ Miss Key Lime pageant for costumed kids ages 6-10.
