Healthy cooking classes at Holy Cross

Holy Cross Hospital is launching a series of free, monthly, healthy-cooking classes from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Thursday with a session on barbecue at its Fresh Inspirations Café, 1000 NE 56th St., Fort Lauderdale. Subsequent classes will cover grains, tofu entrees, the Mediterranean diet, pumpkin and holiday side dishes. Reserve at 954-351-4782.

Chef Allen class spotlights July 25th Taste of Nation

Taste of the Nation South Florida, a first-time Miami-Dade and Broward collaboration, is set for July 25 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Chef Allen Susser, a longtime leader of the chefs’ hunger-fighting fundraiser, plans to whet appetites with a free cooking class at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Whole Foods Market, 6701 Red Rd., Coral Gables.
Brasileiro opens July 12, Cypress Room adds lunch July 15

Brasileiro, a Brazilian-fusion steakhouse and lounge, is set to open July 12 in the old Porcao space at the Four Ambassadors Suites Hotel,801 Brickell Bay Dr., Miami.
