Beard preview dinner at Makoto Thursday


Chef previews his menu for James Beard House

Chef Makoto Okuwa of Makoto at Bal Harbour Shops, 9700 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour, gives his South Florida fans a preview at 7:30 p.m. Thursday of the dinner he will prepare next week at the James Beard House in New York.

The five-course repast, which ranges from seasonal vegetable salad to sashimi, Wagyu beef, sushi and Okinawa Tres Leches, costs $75, with sake pairings an extra $35. Reserve at 305-864-8600;
