Chef previews his menu for James Beard House

Chef Makoto Okuwa of Makoto at Bal Harbour Shops, 9700 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour, gives his South Florida fans a preview at 7:30 p.m. Thursday of the dinner he will prepare next week at the James Beard House in New York.

The five-course repast, which ranges from seasonal vegetable salad to sashimi, Wagyu beef, sushi and Okinawa Tres Leches, costs $75, with sake pairings an extra $35. Reserve at 305-864-8600; makoto-restaurant.com.
