Garcia TKOs Lopez to keep WBO Featherweight belt vacant

The Sports Network

Miguel Angel Garcia defeated Juan Manuel Lopez with a fourth-round TKO Saturday, just one day after losing his WBO Featherweight title after failing to make weight.

Garcia (32-0, 27 KOs) dominated Lopez throughout the fight and knocked him down twice before forcing the referee to stop the bout in the fourth round.

However, Garcia tipped the scales at 128 pounds, two over the requirement limit, during Friday's weigh-in, making the WBO Featherweight title vacant for the time being.

Lopez (33-3, 30 KOs) would have taken the belt with a victory, but was clearly overmatched against Garcia.
