Dublin: calling the clan home — to a cemetery

If you wanted to arrange a family get-together celebrating your Irish heritage, what better place to hold it than in a cemetery where — who knows? — some of your kin could be resting. As part of Ireland’s year-long gathering, Glasnevin cemetery in Dublin is hosting “Family Weeks,” urging clans to start their gatherings with a visit to its unique museum. The cemetery is the site of Padraig Pearse’s famous oration at the grave of Fenian Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa, which led to the Easter Rising of 1916.The cemetery staff is also offering expert help in tracing kin.
