Weather alert: Rain chance up to 50 percent; storms in afternoon

Miami Herald Staff Report

The chance of rain will increase to 50 percent Tuesday in South Florida. Most of the rain is expected after 3 p.m.

Highs will be in the mid-80s, lows in the upper-70s, according to the National Weather Service.

A weak tropical wave is responsible for the showers, said CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez.

"Spotty storms possible. A few heavy downpours," she said.

And the biggest fallout from all this moisture and high humidity?

"Bad hair day alert," Gonzalez told her Facebook followers.

The rain chance will increase to 40 percent Wednesday and Thursday.
