As many as four Justin Bieber hangers-on are now alleged to have attacked a photographer outside a Miami recording studio last week, according to a Miami Dade Police report of the incident.
The victim of the 19-year-old pop star's entourage was identified as paparazzo Jeffery Binion, of Miami Beach.
He is, according to his complaint, 56 years old.
His main attacker, who allegedly grabbed him by the neck and pushed him backwards as he took photos of Bieber outside The Hit Factory on Northeast 149th Street, was identified by police as 250-pound Hugo Hesny, 31, of Davie. He identified himself to police as a “private security” guard.
Hesny once played center field for the South Florida Beach Bums, an amateur baseball team based in Hollywood. He was a bouncer in South Beach nightclubs.
Hesny, according to the report, was accompanied by three other men dressed in black.
One, who couldn't be identified by Binion, pulled the memory card out of his camera while he was held by Hesny.
Binion isn't returning calls. But he told cops he was simply taking pictures of Bieber skateboarding when he was approached by the men.
State Attorney Spokesman Ed Griffith said no charges have been officially filed because Binion has yet to complain formally.
Oprah in Vero
Ever so quietly, media tycoon Oprah Winfrey appeared last week in tiny Vero Beach, where she managed to shop on the main strip without being noticed.
Winfrey, 59, was in town to interview Miami Beach songbird Gloria Estefan, who asked Oprah to visit her in her weekend home three hours north of Miami.
“Gloria proposed to Oprah something different instead of doing the interview at the main house in Star Island,” said Emilio Estefan, Gloria's husband and producer. “Gloria asked if we could do it in her favorite place in the world.
“Nobody bothered Oprah. She loved it. She went to the little shops on the main street and bought a hat.”
Winfrey's special on the singer of Conga and Words Get in The Way is scheduled to air on her cable station OWN sometime in September.
Winfrey and a crew of 80 people spent three nights at Costa D’Este Beach Resort, the Estefans’ hotel.
Oprah’s favorite part?
The chow: She made a dent in the hotel’s supply of ceviche and black beans.
Gabrielle Union, in a three-year relationship with Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, returned to her regular American Airlines Arena seat for two playoff games last week after nearly a month’s absence.
For much of this season, with Union, 40, filming in Los Angeles and Vegas, women have used Twitter to claim they’re having a fling with Wade.
One posted photos of herself in primo seats at the arena in early playoff games, with a note thanking Wade, 31, for the tickets.
Earlier, another described what she claimed was Wade’s Miami Beach bedroom, including the photos on his nightstand, and thanked his personal chef for breakfast.
Union responded on her Twitter account by calling the woman a “crazy loon.”
Union’s publicist did not respond to a request for comment, and Wade doesn’t comment on his personal life.
