The work of Chinese artist Zhang Huan is being featured through late August at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids. The exhibit , Looking East, Facing West: The World of Zhang Huan, is a retrospective of Huan’s compositions as a sculptor, painter, photographer and installation artist encompassing themes of Chinese history and spiritual tranquility. Several photo installations document Huan’s performance pieces, and his steel and copper sculpture Long Island Buddha, pictured here, has been acquired by Meijer Gardens and is being displayed. The exhibition runs until Aug. 25.
