Actor Michael Douglas, star of the current Liberace bio, Behind the Candelabra, taught the world at least one thing Monday: oral sex can sometimes cause cancer.

In a Guardian newspaper interview that quickly went viral on the Internet, Douglas appeared to blame his own battle with throat cancer on oral sex — although that interpretation was later disputed by one of his representatives.

The Guardian quoted Douglas as attributing his illness to the HPV virus spread through oral sex. When asked about his cancer, Douglas said, "without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV (human papillomavirus), which actually comes from cunnilingus."

In response, a Douglas spokesman says the actor never said oral sex was the cause of his own cancer, just one of the many causes.

Health officials say smoking and drinking alcohol are the main causes of oral cancer, although the human papillomavirus has been linked to one kind of throat cancer.

A girl for Kim, Kanye

Kanye West can pass down that leather skirt to his future child: He and Kim Kardashian are expecting a daughter.

The big reveal of the baby’s sex came Sunday night on Kardashian’s E! reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Kardashian said she was excited to be having a girl and added, "Who doesn’t want a girl?" She added that that’s what Kanye wanted as well.

Kardashian is due to give birth this summer.

Gaga fans irked

A British judge has limited protests outside a London department store after management complained that Lady Gaga fans were disturbed by anti-fur campaigners during an appearance last year.

High Court Judge Henry Globe said the singer visited Harrods in October to "advertise some perfumery" — her scent branded Lady Gaga Fame.

He said protesters with placards had caused "nuisance, annoyance and harassment" to some people attending the event.

Anti-fur groups have picketed the famous store for several years.
