Man fatally shot, woman wounded in Oakland Park

Broward sheriff’s deputies were searching Sunday night for the person who fatally shot one man and wounded a woman at Oakland Park.

The shooting was reported just after 7 p.m. in the 300 block Northwest 40th Court, according to Broward Sheriff Office spokesman Mike Jachles.

Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found the male victim dead at the rear of a duplex.

The woman was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale with superficial injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening, Jachles said.

Detectives were interviewing witnesses and believed that the shooting was the result of an altercation, Jachles added.
