Pat Patterson, Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon and Chris Jericho united to honor Bret Hart inside the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary during Bret Hart Appreciation Night.
The monumental tribute was broadcasted on the WWE App for fans across the world after Raw concluded on the USA Network. The mobile application was promoted heavily throughout the company’s Monday flagship show.
Jerry The King Lawler, host for the festivities, read the impressive accomplishments of Calgary’s hometown hero and announced the Mayoral proclamation of May 27, 2013 as Bret Hart Day in the city.
The WWE Hall of Fame legend was overcome with emotion from the warm reception he received from those in attendance. Owen chants filled the venue in honor of Hart’s younger brother.

Hart revealed his mother, Helen, really became a fan of professional wrestling when Lawler used her as the subject of many jokes during their storied WWF rivalry.
Jericho told Hart that he and Owen were his heroes. Y2J expressed how inspired he was after Hart took his suggestion to use the La Magistral cradle in his match with the British Bulldog. Patterson, who inducted Hart into the WWE Hall of Fame, said Hart was the greatest Canadian wrestler of all-time.
Michaels and Hart embraced in the ring, still surreal to those who witnessed the infamous “Montreal Screwjob” and the years of hostility between the two greats. HBK was welcomed with “You screwed Bret” chants. He told his longtime opponent that he was honored to be the Lex Luthor to his Superman.
The once turbulent relationship between McMahon and Hart, which began in Montreal at the 1997 Survivor Series, was reconciled not too long ago. The company chairman said Hart brought a legitimacy which wasn't in WWE and became WWE champion the old fashion way by earning it.
Hart proved a class act, humbled by the recognition from his friends, fans and peers. The event concluded with a shot of WWE superstars and personnel on the ramp entranceway, applauding the pink and black attack. Very classy of WWE to host Bret Hart Appreciation Night, an evening Calgary and those watching will never forget.
