Re the May 19 article Citizens offers cheaper rate option with no fanfare : Is this America? That question was asked by a Texas congressman when questioning IRS Commissioner Steve Miller in reference to targeting conservative groups.
This question also applies to the executives of Citizens Insurance. What’s happening in this country? Homeowners are struggling to pay the outrageous rising cost of insurance. But Citizens executives put up barriers to keep them from knowing about potentially saving 70 percent on their new HO-8 premiums. Citizens issued a strongly worded advisory to insurance agents that they could be sued after offering the policy to homeowners.
These executives have no shame. After many scandals they have the nerve to deceive struggling homeowners again. And, you tell me the inspector general appointed by Gov. Scott who investigated Citizens didn’t know about this secret and didn’t inform Gov. Scott?
I don’t think this one passes the smell test.
