Jones stops Lebedev; Povetkin tops Wawrzyk

Guillermo Jones upset Denis Lebedev via 11th-round knockout to regain the WBA cruiserweight title Friday night.

Jones (39-3-2, 31 KOs) dominated the fight and Lebedev's (25-2, 19 KOs) right eye became swollen before he was sent to the canvas in the final minute of the 11th round.

Also on the card, Alexander Povetkin kept his WBA heavyweight title with a third-round TKO of Andrzej Wawrzyk. Povetkin (26-0, 18 KOs) sent Wawrzyk (27-1, 13 KOs) to the floor in the second round and again in the third before the fight was called by referee Russell Mora with 32 seconds left in the round.

Povetkin is due to fight IBF, WBA and WBO title holder Wladimir Klitschko in Moscow on Oct. 5.
