Florida man accuse of lopping off his dog’s ears

A Southwest Florida man is accused of cutting off his dog’s ears, according to Manatee Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dave Bristow.

Adrian Trevino, 21, was released from jail on Wednesday on a $10,000 bond after being charged with animal cruelty stemming from a complaint called into the Manatee Sheriff’s Office on April 4.

“She said she found a dog whose ears looked like they had been recently cut off,” Bristow said.

Sheriff’s investigators were told by neighbors it was Trevino’s dog.

“He claims he found the dog with the injuries and was going to take it to the vet as soon as he had the money,” Bristow said.

Animal control, took possession of the dog and believe the ears were cut on purpose, Bristow said.

Witnesses reportedly told investigators Adrian had the dogs for weeks and it was fine up until the day of their report.

The sheriff’s office turned its findings over to the State Attorney’s Office with a recommendation for arrest.
