Two community advocates — one for the arts, one for children — will be honored at a luncheon Wednesday.

Amy Rosenberg, an attorney and founder of Overtown Music Project, will receive the 2013 Ruth Shack Leadership Award, which is given to emerging leaders. The organization works to preserve and continue Overtown’s tradition of music. Rosenberg, co-chair of the nonprofit’s board of directors, recently joined the National YoungArts Foundation.

The Community Champion Award, given to a supporter of nonprofits in Miami-Dade, will go to David Lawrence Jr., president of the Early Childhood Initiative Foundation and head of the Children’s Movement of Florida. Lawrence is also former publisher of The Miami Herald.

Awards are being presented by LEAVE A LEGACY — a project of The Partnership for Philanthropic Planning of Miami-Dade County — and The Miami Foundation. They will be given Wednesday at the 15th Annual Donor Next Door Luncheon at Jungle Island.
