The Miami Dolphins have already added many incentives to sweeten the deal and persuade us to approve a bed-tax increase for modernizing their stadium and making it Super-Bowl ready. But I have an idea — why not rename it Joe Robbie Stadium? This would be appealing to voters who remember Robbie as a visionary who made the unlikely dream of the stadium come true.
He cared deeply about honesty, sportsmanship, his players and legions of fans. The name change might soften cynicism of voters who feel betrayed after seeing their beloved Joe Robbie Stadium named after a defunct underwear company, beer company and other forgotten namesakes.
