Paula Dockery’s April 27 Other Views article, Advice for Gov. Scott to truly do ‘the right thing,’ well catalogs his chronic inability to make ethical decisions.
Apparently, his failure to differentiate between right and wrong started well before he flooded Florida with slick campaign ads in 2010. Indeed, those ads were in many ways funded by money Scott made from his Columbia/HCA medical centers before the company pleaded guilty to 14 corporate felonies and was fined more than $1.7 billion. Soon, in another case involving his management of Columbia/HCA, he invoked his Fifth Amendment right to not testify against himself regarding criminal activity 75 times.
Floridians will have to make an ethical decision of the 2014 governors’ race. Let’s do the right thing.
