Deputies: Robber shot by homeowner in Pompano Beach

 

An unexpected encounter between homeowner and intruder ended with the struggle over a gun Tuesday.

The gun fired, and the robber was shot dead.

The drama started at 5:15 a.m. at a home at Conch Key Villas in Pompano Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The resident returned home at that time and encountered a man near his garage.

Detectives are looking for a black car that left the home. BSO has not released the name of the victim or the dead man.
