Fire destroys three Florida Keys homes

A fire destroyed three homes and damaged a fourth one in Key Largo on Sunday afternoon, officials say.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the fire started around 2 p.m. at a home on Garden Lane near Mile Marker 103.

Ocean Reef Fire Department and Miami-Dade Fire responded to the blaze, fueled by Sunday’s strong winds which helped spread the fire to the nearby homes.

There were no injuries, officials said, and all homes were unoccupied at the time of the blaze.

Miami Herald news partner CBS4 contributed to this report.
