• Region 4-7A quarterfinal — St. Thomas Aquinas 8, Monarch 3: Less than a week after getting no-hit by Cooper City in the district final, St. Thomas Aquinas (18-5) took out its frustration on Monarch (17-4) in Coconut Creek.
The Raiders jumped out to an early lead in the first inning on a RBI triple by Rachael Collins. Samantha Sharkey followed with a RBI single to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead.
In the third with a runner on base, Gwen Svekis blasted a 1-1 pitch over the left-centerfield wall to give the Raiders a 4-0 lead. The Raiders added to its lead with a four run fifth inning.
Raiders pitcher Erica Nori kept most of the Knights lineup under control as she forced the Knights into numerous fly outs.
Stefany Collins went 2 for 3 with two home runs in the game for Monarch.

• Region 4-3A quarterfinal — Calvary Christian 5, Trinity Christian 3: Catcher Shelby Gilreath powered Calvary Christian Academy to a victory over Trinity Christian Academy, driving in all five runs for the Eagles.
After two scoreless innings, Gilreath ended Calvary Christian’s silence on offense with a three-run blast over the center field wall to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
Trinity Christian tied the score in the fourth and added another in the fifth.
But Gilreath struck again in the bottom of the fifth, this time smacking a line drive that sneaked its way over the left field wall for a two-run home run to put Calvary Christian back in the lead.
“It was a big day for her and she’s been on fire for us,” Eagles coach Lee Gilreath said. “She had a great game and led the team here today.”
Outside of a shaky fourth and fifth inning, starting pitcher Cameryn Chang delivered on the mound for Calvary Christian, striking out four and pitching a complete game for the Eagles.
