Director Michael Bay says he did not apologize for his movie Armageddon and that his words in an interview with Miami Herald film critic Rene Rodriguez were taken out of context.
After the article saying that he had apologized went viral, the Pain & Gain director posted on his website: “What I clearly said to the reporter, is I wish I had more time to edit the film, specifically the third act. He asked me in effect what would you change if you could in your movies if you could go back. I said, I wish we had a few more weeks in the edit room on Armageddon.”
Rodriguez Tweeted he did not misquote Bay but that when other media outlets picked up the story they took a quote about the rushed editing job out of context and made it seem as though Bay were apologizing for the entire movie.
