Fort Lauderdale man accused of stabbing his elderly father to death


A Fort Lauderdale man is accused of fatally stabbing his father and faces a charge of premeditated murder and felony battery on a victim over 65.

Douglas Scott, 51, was arrested Monday night. Police say he stabbed his 80-year-old father in their home in the 1000 block of Southeast Fourth Street in Fort Lauderdale, Miami Herald news partner CBS4 reported..

Fort Lauderdale police aren’t releasing a motive, although the call came in as a domestic dispute.
