Mitt Romney wrote off 47 percent of Americans in his campaign for president. Now filibuster-crazed Republicans wrote off 90 percent of Americans who favor background checks on arms transactions. The illustrious Marco Rubio’s excuse for voting no is that our focus should be on violence.
Short of war, murder on our streets and in schools, colleges and movie theaters is about as violent as it gets. I would like to hear Rubio’s definition of violence. Perhaps the tea party or the NRA can help.
