Tara Reid has meltdown in store: report

Tara’s tantrum

This doesn’t sound like retail therapy. The New York Post reports Tara Reid had a weird meltdown while shopping in La-La Land. An eyewitness told the paper that the American Pie actress, 37, began shouting after she was refused a discount over the weekend. “She had to be escorted out by security,” the spy said. “She seemed drunk.” Reid’s rep denied the claims when the Post called for comment, saying Reid was definitely not drunk and moreover, deserved a slash in the price. The spokesperson said: “Tara gets a huge discount with All Saints in the UK and Paris because she’s a walking billboard for them. She gets photographed ... so they give her huge hook-ups. We told them we get a discount, and they said they’d email the press team.”

Will Reese Witherspoon be able to get past her shocking arrest?

The Oscar winner (for 2005’s Walk the Line) never seemed the type to misbehave. No one would ever even think to utter her name in the same sentence with someone like Amanda Bynes.

But so it is. Reese, 37, has a bad-girl side.

A court hearing on a disorderly conduct charge has been rescheduled to May 22 for the mother of three, who said she is “deeply embarrassed” by what she said to a state trooper during a traffic stop in Atlanta.

The Mud star released a statement apologizing for her unruly behavior and Hollywood diva attitude when her husband, agent Jim Toth, 42, was arrested and accused of driving under the influence of alcohol (his hearing has been reset for May 23).

“I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said,” Witherspoon said. “It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am.”

Hope not. Look what happened to Jenna Jameson. The troubled adult film star — who was arrested for a DUI last year — has lost custody of her 4-year-old twin boys, TMZ reports. They are in the care of estranged boyfriend Tito Ortiz.

Out of there

Khloe Kardashian will have more time to work on babymaking. The reality sister has been axed from season 3 cohosting duties at The X Factor, Fox said in a statement. Mario Lopez stays.

Get it in writing

A judge has thrown out Wiz Khalifa’s case against It’s My Party, Inc. The rapper was suing the concert promotion company for cancelling his $85K gig at George Mason University’s Patriot Center, near D.C., in December. The new dad sued for $1 million due to the supposed damage to his reputation. But, amazingly, a contract was never signed. Poor advance sales may have played a role in the cancellation; IMP had no comment.

Banged up

Not a good run lately for Kendra Wilkinson. The onetime Girl Next Door was unable to face her fears and quit the high diving competition S plash. On Sunday the 27-year-old was spotted entering Providence Tarzana Medical Center in L.A. following a car crash. A source told UsWeekly she was “sore” and “in shock” but not seriously injured.

Car caper

A woman is to be sentenced in May for the theft of a rental car and computer from Huey Lewis. Katherine Bowyer Gallagher has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession of stolen property, The Marin Independent Journal reports. The singer, 62, was at a Holiday Inn Express in Mill Valley, Calif., on Feb. 21 when the Toyota Corolla he rented was nipped along with his laptop inside. Lewis says he had left the car idling to go inside for a receipt. A cop later spotted Gallagher in the stolen vehicle.

Amber Valletta comes clean: I’m a raging addict

Amber Valletta isn’t playing the blame game. The model-actress (Hitch, Revenge, Transporter 2) talked candidly in a video for MindBodyGreen.com and takes full responsibility for her addiction to drugs and alcohol. In the clip, Valletta says she started young, sniffing markers while growing up in Oklahoma, then graduated to the hard stuff when she began posing for magazines. Even though she has been sober for 25 years, the self proclaimed raging addict still has moments when she wants to “distract herself” because she’s “uncomfortable being a human being.” The 40-year-old mother of one, who is married to volleyball player Chip McCaw, credits looking inward constantly to stay healthy.
