Weather alert: Storms through the day; flooding and hail possible

Miami Herald Staff Report

There’s a good chance you’ll be feeling raindrops on your head on Monday.

Forecasters have set a 70 percent chance of rain through the day. For early commuters, the roads got wet quickly after isolated deluges across South Florida.

“Take your umbrella .. storms likely today, some strong to severe,” CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez wrote on her Facebook page.

Expect thunderstorms through the afternoon that will taper off in the evening, the National Weather Service said. Gusts could reach 50 mph and small hail and flooding are possible, forecasters say.

The high temperature will reach 80 and will drop to about 72 overnight.
